# Scanning Settings

<mark style="color:blue;">The WorkMate scanner allows you to scan products using more than just their barcodes. You can scan products by their SKU, tag, or by product metafields.</mark>&#x20;

* In the Scanner section, you can choose the method by which you want to scan products. Available options include **Barcodes**, **SKUs**, and **Tags**.
* WorkMate also indexes product metafields, allowing you to scan products by their metafield values. We currently support single line text product metafields.&#x20;
