Role Settings

In the Role Settings section, you can manage employee permissions. WorkMate uses a role-based system to restrict permissions.

Tip: For stores that are not on Shopify Plus, new staff members must log in to Shopify at least once before they can be synced to WorkMate.

1. Access WorkMates Settings

  • Open WorkMate from the Shopify dashboard.

  • Click View More.

  • Navigate to the Settings section.

2. Configure Role Settings

  • Click the Roles module to configure employee permissions for various roles.

Tip:

WorkMate previously configured permissions on a per-employee basis. Your configured permissions have automatically been migrated to roles called Auto-migrated roles.

  • The different Auto-migration numbers represent your previous different permission levels of the employees.

  • You can change the role names here, in your settings.

  • Select or unselect permissions to customize access for each role.

3. View Employee Roles

  • Access the Employees module to view your assigned employee roles.

  • Here, Superusers (or other roles that have the Write Settings permission) can change and update employee roles.

Tip: The store owner will automatically become the first Superuser. To become a Superuser, please request the store owner to update your role.
