Location of Hooks

The Location of Hooks feature is a powerful custom field designed to streamline product tracking and organization by allowing you to associate products with specific hook locations.

1. Navigate to the WorkMate Settings

• In Shopify, go to Shopify Admin.

• Navigate to the Settings module.

2. Create a Hook custom field

• Click the More views dropdown then navigate to the Line items button.

• Once in the Line items section, click the Custom field values button.

• In the New custom field section, enter Hook.

Note: This Hook location is case and spelling sensitive, so please ensure to type in Hook exactly.

• Click Create.

3. Create Custom field values

• After creating the Hook custom field, you'll be prompted to create custom field values.

• Select the Choose from options button.

• In the New option field, enter in Hook 1 (or another naming convention that best suits your business needs).

• After entering your value, click Save.

• After saving, you'll be prompted to enter another value option, and click Save again.

• Repeat this process for all your Hooks.

• After entering all hook locations, click Save again.

4. Create a Work Order using the Hook Custom Field

• Create a work order. For more information on how to create a work order, click here: B2C Work Orders

• Click into your product to get a more detailed view.

• Click the Add custom field button.

Example: bike2

• In the field name, type in Hook.

• This will pull up the Hook custom field you just created.

• Next, click on the Hook dropdown. This will pull up your Hook locations.

Tip: The Hook locations will display which hooks are already in use for easy management and location tracking.

• Select a Hook location that is not in use.

Example: Hook 5

• Then click the Add button.

• You'll be re-directed to the detailed overview of your item.

• Click Save.

• After saving your item information, be sure to also save your work order.

5. Verify your Hook location

• After saving your work order, click back into your item.

• Your Hook location will now be updated with your associated work order number.

6. Remove your Hook location

• If you need to remove your hook location, return back to the work order and click into the product.

• Simply click the Remove button.

• After removing the Hook value, click Save.
